Sweet Hot Mess group art show

I had briefly mentioned that me and Aaron will have our artwork on display in a gallery out in the midwest mecca Minneapolis! And as promised I'm now taking some time to give you guys all the sugary details. Yes that's right...sugary...because this show is dedicated to sweets! When the illustrious Rudy Fig tapped us to feature in the show we were flattered. This show is one of a kind. On display will be the sweets inspired works of national, international, and locally known artists. And it really gets interesting when the visual meets the edible! Uh huh...in addition to us painters and renderers of assorted media, there will be bakers creating cakes and things that are directly inspired by the featured artists. And the cakes will all be part of a Cake Decorating contest that will be judged right there on opening night! So there will be sweets to gaze upon and graze upon all evening long.

The show is curated by baker Katie Carpenter, and the artist Rudy Fig...who is amazing! Be sure to check out her work. I've included a couple pics of her paintings in this post. When we were last in Minneapolis for The Creative Connection we fell in love with the city and vowed to return. Unfortunately it isn't in the budget for us to make the trip. So our artwork will attend and we'll be there in spirit. I cannot wait to see photos from the event. If you are near the Twin Cities and are one of the lucky ones who get to go, we'd love to hear all about it! Please send us a link to your blog post or your pics!

We have a batch of our JUMBO diecuts in the show, including some brand new ones... JUMBO pink, blue, and cherry topped cupcakes! They are so so fun!!  And there will also be some of our Instagram inspired pieces.

The Opening is on August 25th at 7:00 pm. At the Cult Status Gallery.

As I said above, Rudy Fig's work is amazing. I just had to share a couple pics of her paintings! LOVE!

Ok, once again, a big thanks to Rudy and Katie for including us in their fab show! We hope for smashingly sweet success!
