Maiden Voyage

We were introduced to the Manistee River 40 years ago by a friend that took me fishing for the day to his "secret spot" on that river and it has become a part of our life to go there at least once a year if not more. I'm not sure how anyone can look at this first picture below and not think it as one of the more beautiful settings in Michigan. The Manistee has changed a little in those 40 years with some growth and population along its banks, but there are still spots that are just something to behold as evidenced in the picture below.
Our new coach is everything we thought it would be.....and roomier than we thought. It is truly an apartment on wheels in which we can be comfortable anywhere we go. We did find a few things that need some work which is to be expected when buying a used unit but nothing excessive or a problem. One particular thing we noticed is that it is a much "tighter" coach than our previous Endeavor and there is much less road noise which is a nice plus for driving down the road. We are still fumbling around adjusting to new locations for light switches and which drawer has what in it, but spending time in it will cure that quickly.
The shot above here is of our private little camp space that our good friends have made for us and which we enjoy thoroughly. There is electricity and water for when we need it and its just behind their place right on the Manistee river. We generally canoe and fish in this area and enjoy the quiet of the river with a campfire at night and we generally eat well and more than we should. Below is another view of the sight and notice that we are not really close to anyone with lots of woods and a hunting preserve on the opposite side of the river.
Another beautiful view of this natural area that's relatively untouched.
We are leaving soon on a new trip which will really test us as we head to Cape Charles, Virgina to meet our friends that we met in the Florida Keys to have a get together were we again will probably eat too much....should be a great time!!
