We are sooo excited about our classes!! Come get glittery with us!!!!!
Here are our sneak peeks!!!
"Let Them Eat Cake"
We couldn't possibly go to an artistic gathering without bringing a cake! On this piece a three tiered, Marie Antoinette inspired cake holds center stage but the real star of the show is the backdrop of torn and collaged original vintage inspired wallpapers. We painted the wallpaper patterns especially for this project and made sure to keep them within the range of our favorite color palette of pale pink, aqua, and sepia. For good measure, a bit of vintage sheet music is mixed in, bearing the fitting song: A Little Bird Told Me. The cake is adorned with lots of texture and three dimensional elements such as a cut out print of our little pink bird painting complete with an actual pink tail feather and rhinestone eye...also some creamy white millinery flowers with pearly centers and "piped" garlands of German glass glitter beads. Along the bottom we've trimmed the piece with adorable pale pink pom poms and up top we hung it with vintage aqua seam binding, creamy lace trim and a length of gleaming pink beads. The piece measures 11" x 14" and is on a thin and lightweight piece of wood.
"Dreaming of a White Christmas"
This class was inspired by our love of vintage cardboard Christmas houses and all the memories of the imaginary snow drifted villages we'd create underneath the Christmas tree! Here is a little glimpse of one of those "dream" villages. A snow blanketed row of four hand cut prints of our original Christmas cottage paintings in the pastel tones of old faded glass ornaments. And the cottages all bear a mini wreath made from silver pipe cleaner. With hand cut drifts of paper snow and a polka dotted sky of glimmering silver glass glitter set against a backdrop of creamy white, this piece definitely depicts a "white" Christmas...but its the punches of color that seem to make the creamy whites take front and center. There's lots of pink, aqua, and seafoam green...and even some perfectly placed, painted bottle brush trees in those tones. The bottom edge is trimmed with silver rick rack and a crepe paper ruffle in antique white. The top edge has an icicle shaped trim of vintage Christmas carol sheet music. It's hung with aqua vintage seam binding and silver rick rack and topped off with a silver glitter star. It measure 8" x 16" and is on a thin, lightweight piece of wood.
