I knew I needed the Sabbath rest in Sabah last week. It's only the third day back at College and I was deluged with work and more work. We completed Greek Participles yesterday and today I lectured on Galatians and started on 1 Corinthians in my Introduction to New Testament II. Then it was straight to Wednesday Chapel. The sermon was wonderfully presented but I was too tired to pay full attention after getting up before 6am and delivering 3-hour-long lectures.
Yesterday straight after my Greek class, my Masters student came to my office and presented me with his 90-page draft MTh thesis. I had just approved one MTh thesis for examination before the Lunar New Year break and now another one awaits my attention. I worked late into the night and sent off my lecture notes on Revelation at 11:15pm for tomorrow's class at 7:15pm. For Greek 2, I have 20 students, 30 students in my NT 2 and 78 students in my elective on Revelation with 14 MDiv/BD.MTS students and one MTh student who has to do all the assignments plus one exegetical paper based on the Greek text of Revelation. It's by the grace of God that I can accomplish all the preparation for lectures, the delivery of lectures and the supervision of postgrad students. I am reminded by the text of 1 Corinthians today that the one who planted and the one who watered count for nothing but it is God who gives the growth. May my students grow into the likeness of the image of Jesus Christ with His Word and His Spirit illuminating us and transforming us from one degree of glory to another degree of glory for the glory of God the Father.
