A day in the park!

Today was super duper chilly, and gray....We could either have acted like chilly slugs and not have moved a muscle (except for work), or we could embrace it and pretend that walks in the park on chilly wet days are our absolute favorite thing ever!!
We chose the latter! The park was actually full!! Families in their favorite hoodies, happy dogs, joggers and runners young and old....and a woman Aaron and I nicknamed the "bird whisperer" were all enjoying their saturday. We decided to do the whole cross country course 3.2 miles. I know I already said it the other day...but my gosh!! Those kids amaze me!! There were the "long legged Princetonesque blonde mop top" boys...and the "Laguna beach" looking girls....but my goodness.....there were some surprises crossing that finish line as well!! Some were let's just say, "less than thin", and "anything but built for running". I give them sooo much credit!! Really, If I had a pull-string in my back that day.....my repeating phrase would have been...."God Blessem" as each crossed the finish line! Which reminds me of my Mork from Ork doll that I had when I was little!! Oh my gosh!!....(it said Shazzbot, and I am Mork from Ork Nanu Nanu....nuts huh?) However you spell Shazzbot!

Anyways....nice day at the park...glad to get out...although the mosquitos found us...me mostly....incase you don't know..I'm almost positive that I am the most delicious thing in New Jersey to those things!

We finished some new art squared....after a bunch of requests for a pink cupcake, it is now available!! My favorite is the mini "beautiful cakes",the tiny banner..polka dots...vintage baking book edging...and pink and cream stripes on the sides.....sweet! all are now listed in our eBAYstore.

Today was Alicia's, of Posie Gets Cozy fame, 1 year Blogiversary!! It is the most amazing blog ever! She is beyond inspiring!! I truly urge you to check out her blog if you haven't already...take a whole weekend and go through her archives...I tell you..it is better than any magazine or book!! Such a fabulous world! Her words as well as photos knock my socks off!! Happy Blogiversary Alicia!! Thank you for the daily eye candy and inspiration!!
xoxo Jenny
The weather is cooling and I was finally able to post our picture on the profile part of the blog ....seeing that sand and water of the keys just getting me itchy to follow that warm sunshine south. We are having the motorhome repaired where the blowout caused some problems and we have invested in new shocks and tires. I'm almost ready to go. Its been hard to post this summer as it is more difficult to find things when your not moving. Won't be long though.

Getting Ready

The weather is cooling and I was finally able to post our picture on the profile part of the blog ....seeing that sand and water of the keys just getting me itchy to follow that warm sunshine south. Make a Wish!

Not only is Aaron a day away from being a full fledged zombie...our camera seems to have a cold as well!! Totally impossible to take a decent photo today!! blurry! blurry! blurry!

Despite feeling so YUCK! We finished our newest piece...We are both quite pleased! To begin with, the photo was too sweet for words!! Early 1940's..tiny lil' girl on her first bday,...with her mini cake with one candle atop a CARDBOARD box!! Now was that the thing back then? I have come across soooo many photos from all different families, areas, states, years...why on earth were these children posing for photos with their cakes on cardboard boxes outdoors where bugs could be landing on them....or worse yet...they could be dropped or smooshed!!

I myself am a nervous wreck on any "cake day". I carry my cakes as if I have bomb squad training! I just do not get the cardboard box in the yard thing! ....obviously though..in a strange way I find it sweet, and old fashioned, and story book like! I am drawn to "old time" things and behaviors that make me wonder "why on earth?"

We decided to call this one.."Make a Wish"...(why over think it)..simple and sweet!..She has painted rosy cheeks, a painted on party hat...a newly painted dress, socks and mini mary janes, the cardboard box is now a pretty tan with pink polka dots...(maybe a gift...maybe a table cloth?)...we went with a cameo style setting for our lil' girl...atop the sweetest vintage sheet music... "Candy and Cake"...it is framed by a pink with cream polka dot scallop, and crowned with our hand painted title banner! Oh!! and of course!...our signature fine hand glittering in all the right spots, and distressed antique washed edges finish it off!

I cannot wait to have at least 6 in the collection!! Things feel "real" when you have a group of them! ...Like most runway shows during fashion week....single out a model from any given show...and you wonder how on earth the designer/stylists thought this look would work....but once you see a tribe of gals with perfect make up and hair all in the same styling and vibe...you say "Ohhh yeahhh..now I see ...fabbbbulous"!

yep..so we gotta get cracken! Hope to list more Art Squared tonight or tomorrow as well!!
Our lil' sweetie above is now listed on eBay!
(If she happens to be sold by the time you get there...another will be listed right away!!)

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!! The chilly nights are here!! time for Netflix, and a blanket!!!
xoxo Jenny

My DREAM "Salt Water Taffy" Seashore house!

Finally settling down after a week full of school projects, cross country, and hockey games, Dr. visits, shipping, designing, and planning!
It seems Aaron has caught the bug..he has been feeling stinky for 2 days!..and I think it may be hitting me now! I am just hoping to get our new pieces listed before we truly become zombies!!

We are super excited about our new pieces! They will be done much like our current Cake Art collection....painted distressed finishes, antique washes, fine hand glittering, original painting etc...but now will incorporate vintage photos!!
We are so excited! We hope to have some listed by this weekend..on eBay and in our Glitter and Grunge boutique!! Stay tuned!!

Now about the photos up top!! How amazing is this incredibly edible candy colored seashore house? We came upon it while driving through Cape May N.J. during our mini Wildwood vacation! Cape May is home to the largest collection of authentic Victorian structures in the USA!! A post card of a town!! Amazing!! It is only mins. from Wildwood's retro, Doo Wop, kitsch....yet a completely different world!

The moment I saw this mint green gem my heart and mind raced! Is the kitchen pink? Do they have a piano? What do they collect? Please tell me they have candy striped walls and pink damask wall paper!!....shelves of paper mache rabbit candy containers, hundreds of cardboard Christmas houses and pastel bottle brush trees..in a room dedicated to Christmas all year round!!
Makes me think of all my summers spent locked away in my room..alone...picking homes from real estate brochures and "decorating" them room by room with J.C. Penney, Sears, and Spiegel catalogs!! ...Area rugs, beds, bedding, dining sets, dinnerware, curtains, floral arrangements, you name it!! These were all day affairs!  My "job"!!!
Oh I wish I had the key to this Salt water taffy gem's front door!! Of course there are a few minor changes I would make...but my goodness...you can't beat these sweet bones!
A girl can dream!!
xoxo Jenny

Cakes, Cakes, and more Cakes!!

Today was a shipping day....from the second the eyes open till the absolute "down to the second" cut off at the post office..we are nuts! But like I have said.. I LOVE to know that all of these pieces are off to their new homes!! Love it!!

It was a chilly day....Fall is coming fast!! and mannn do I wanna bake!! The chocolate cake I baked at my sister's the other night really flicked the switch! I have been book marking soooo many fabulous recipes on line, that I am dying to try!!

I am the baker in the family. For all birthdays and all holidays...Jenny brings the "sweet". I am the oldest of 5, plus Aaron has two brothers, one now married with a brand new baby boy....so as you can imagine...it seems I am always planning some sort of baking!! I have my favorite recipes, my "tried and trues". Some family members have personal favorites, such as my dad... HIS cake is the "Brown Derby"....basically a rich sour cream devil's food cake..(I do 4 layers)...layered  with fresh sweetened whipped cream, bananas, strawberries, and peaches...frosted in whipped cream, and sprinkled with cake crumbs. It is really deelish!!..He often tries to convince others to pick the same...as to have it a few times a year!!....I say..noooway...I like a little magic in life!!
My sister is all about chocolate...rich fudge cake layered with sweetened cream...covered in a super decadent chocolate ganache glaze...and  dotted with homemade truffles. My mother loves chocolate and hazelnut. Walt is a maniac when it comes to my red velvet cupcakes, Jason, and Aaron both go for strawberry!!
and my brother Richard requests ice cream cakes!
(I tell you...the "Bake and Fill" pan is super fun,and easy to use...but you really do not get enough ice cream!!!) I was pretty proud of the cake I presented....and being that it was totally gone in 10 mins says something I guess!!

My bday is coming up in October, it is the one day I do not bake. Last year Aaron got me the sweetest cake ever...with our photo on it!!...the year before, my sister baked cupcakes. It feels so weird not baking for a family party!! Well...I bake for Halloween so I guess in a way I do bake pretty close to it!
I am hoping Walt gets a bake sale going at school..I am just dying to do some fabulous to-go sweets....old school....wrapped in waxed paper....I am going to keep on him!!..Is that nuts? forcing a bake sale just because you are addicted to baking? lol...maybe just a little!!
Anyways...still haven't figured the comments things out...if anyone outside of Aol, would be kind enough to leave a comment I would be oh so grateful!!
Hope you all have a fabbb week!! Lots of new TV!!..and old favorites are back!! Yippee!! (Counting down the days till LOST!!)
xoxo Jenny

I woke up today feeling like I may have caught my sister's cold....now, is it possible for that to happen through Instant messaging? just kidding....She had to call out of work yesterday ..throat was just killing her, all over aches, fever. A few of her friends had it this past week. I am hoping it is not the same thing! I've been super stressed and running around like nuts lately...hopefully it's just a lil' funk that'll be over by tomorrow!

ps...if anyone has tried to post without luck...we would love to know! Thanks!

The hustle and bustle has begun!

It has been so so hectic around here! Filling orders, designing new pieces, Dr. visits, and Walt is back to school!! We convinced him to join cross country! He has been running with Aaron all summer, and loves it! That kid can go from lazy bones to total machine in about 60 seconds!! It just takes the "right reasons"! What a crack up! I cannot tell you how much I love having him as a brother! It is just so much fun! It seems like just yesterday he was "Walty green socks"!! And now...he is our peer...our 4th partner in crime! Down for pizza or cupcake game in NYC anytime we call!

He signed up yesterday...(quite late!) The rest of the team has been running together since August! This is only his second year in this school as well! He transferred here to our town to be able to play hockey scholastically. He is awesome! (He was just featured in American Hockey magazine!) I pretty much cry every game!! So So excited and proud!! He is our baby brother. And we want to hold on to him for as long as we can!!

Today is his first practice with the team. I know he is really anxious to see what it is really like, if he is overthinking it?..underthinking?....I promise...it is allllll about THINKING with that kid!!! Those wheels are always turning!! lol! His first meet is Saturday (I think)...We are beyond excited! This is something totally new for our family! We are a hockey family! So my Dad is going to have to find some new "insane things" to yell!! Trust me...Walt will have a LARGE rooting section!! What a fun way to usher in Fall!! I'll keep you all posted!!

Pictured above is the Holiday/Winter 06' postcard for the Super Super Fun Folk Art website that we belong to.. www.glitterandgrunge.com ! (We are psyched to see our coconut layer cake made the grouping!) Good things come in small packages!

Good things truly do come in small packages!! I have been a collector and lover all things tiny my whole life....mini sweets being my all time favorite!..(I'll be sure to take some pics around the apt. of some of my absolute favorites for a future post!!)

We have been having such a great time creating our mixed media "Art Squared" (4" x 4")  Cake Art!! I love lining them up, switching their order around, holding them...really!....they really are so much fun to look at in a group! Seeing our original paintings shrunken down so tiny is so story book like!
We create them on tiny little wooden plaques...I think most other artists use cardstock, heavy papers, or canvas. The mini wooden plaque was a natural choice for us!!..Growing up in my Dad's cabinet shop made me such a lover of wood!!...Have you ever smelled fresh cut Cherry?? Oh my Gosh!!! Amazing!!
These lil' bits of eye candy are totally here to stay for us! We look forward to creating all sorts of Holiday minis!! So stay tuned!! We hope to list a handful of new designs this week!  Hope you like them!! xoxo Jenny
*for anyone interested here is a link to our "Art Squared"!

a lil' vacation all year round!

I had planned to post these pics yesterday, but once again...Power outtage!! Second time in the last few weeks!! Last time it was out for over 11 hrs!! We lost every thing in the fridge/freezer...and were unable to finish up some very important work! It was the worst! This time..taking no chances..we packed up all of our supplies, lots of laundry,  snacks, and my favorite baking implements, to go to my sister's house for the day!
She had gone to a festival in Brooklyn with some friends, and knowing we had tons to do, left us a key!....very nice of her! We indeed finished a bunch of orders, about 5 loads of laundry!!, and I baked an "over the top" deeelish classic devils food layer cake frosted with an old fashioned fudge frosting! It felt so weird baking in a foreign kitchen! How on earth do those people do it in those HUGE bake-offs? (in gymnasiums lined with hundreds of ovens) AMAZING!!
When Missy got home we ended up hanging out until 3:45 am!!! eating pizza, and more and more and more cake!!Pretty much just laying around gossiping about every topic on earth! (which is what us 3 do anytime we are together) ..Aaron becomes one of the girls...it is a riot!!

The photos above are of our one and only bathroom here in our tiny apt.....it was tiled yellow in the 70's when they built this complex...nothing has changed!....I have found it so so hard for me to feel content with our bathroom decor choices over the years! I see color in themes....I saw the yellow as blonde hair...so I tried blonde hair blue eyed pin up girls....we tried vintage tiki....we tried  "natural home"....you name it....it was always pretty...but never felt "right"....For the first time..I really do smile every time I walk in!!
We went with the theme of Vintage Jersey Shore. For the walls we painted stripes in the perfect Salt Water Taffy pastels..(candy pink, seafoam green, sunny yellow, and turquoise).....seashells, vintage beach postcards, shell art boxes, pastel McCoy vases, and our prized collection of vintage Wildwood, and Atlantic City souvenir plates fill the room! We wanted it simple, clean, airy, but TAFFYish!!! We still need a sink skirt...and I do NOT sew....anyone want to trade some Cake Art for a sink skirt???? lol...Our shower curtain is a simple and pretty white eyelet from the Shabby Chic at Target line.

We are always on the look out for vintage beach goodies....from old beach motel photos, motel keys, carnival/boardwalk prizes, to candy colored beach/sailboat paint by numbers!! (LOVE them)!!
We wanted to capture some of the fun of this summer forever!.....(we collected some Wildwood sand in a vintage ball jar)...I would loooove to do something fabulous like the "memory jars" Amy of Inspire Company did with her friends!!..(she is sooo fun and creative..love those pics!!) here is a link:

Our tiny lil' beach bath is still a work in progress....As soon as it is "finished" I will post more pics! (I totally need that sink skirt!!) hope you like the pics!! Any suggestions..I'd love to hear them!! Thanks for visiting!  Have a great week! xoxo Jenny

Happy Memories!!

Well, Summer o6' is now a happy memory....Fall is certainly here! The chilly mornings are now filled with the sounds of school bus brakes, and overly animated preteens waiting outside our bedroom window!!! lol...(we have yet to actually see this one boy....but his voice has conjured up some amazing visuals for us....as groggy as we are from painting till the wee hours..."that kid's voice" is sure to bring a chuckle from me...and a moan from Aaron!! Each and every morn!)

Before I truly say goodbye to Summer (even though I already started to pull out my piles of vintage Halloween decor)....I would love to share our mini ..(and I do say mini)..sibling vacation to Wildwood NJ! (the blue collar vacation spot of the East Coast...Home of Doo Wop music .and architecture!)
First I must tell you about the incredible motel we stayed at!!!...it is just beyond perfectly kitschy! Here is the link,
Caribbean Motel - A Historic Doo Wop Landmark in Wildwood Crest, NJ  It first opened in 1956, at the height of Wildwood's Doo Wop heydey! It has been featured in Smithsonion Magazine, Preservation Magazine, The New York Times, LA Times, and many more! It was just totally revamped...to include, Doo Wop rooms....A mix of authentic and retro-reproduced Eames-era furnishings along with enchanting "Caribbean Deco" colors and shapes!!

Wildwood is a total step back in time....the most incredible "never ending" strip of candy colored motels...with names like...the "lolli pop", "the pink panther" "the Waikiki"......it would blow your mind! SO SO SO fun! We had gone there as kids each summer....and also after our prom..(that is what you do here on the Jersey shore!) it is about 2 hrs from where we live now.

We decided it would be a great escape for 3 days...Aaron and I .. my sister Melissa..and our youngest brother (16) Walt (aka..the center of my universe!) We truly had such a fun time..eating all sorts of boardwalk foods....riding on one of the Largest Ferris Wheels in the USA!!....playing mini golf at a tiki theme Pancake House....finding an INCREDIBLE cupcake bar!! (You pick your cake...Pick your Frosting..and pick your topping...and voila!!....we ordered 12!!!! Yeah..we do not "play around" when it comes to cupcakes!! lol!) We also had an incredible kidney shaped pool right outside our room....faux palm trees and all!! It was the first time I swam in over 12 years!!....lots of fun!!...also went in the Ocean...AMAZING!! hadn't done that in over 22 yrs!!! My sister is a beach nut...she is at the beach almost daily during the summer....(We live at the shore)...Aaron and I are more the..stroll the boardwalk at night types...eating fried oreos or something nuts like that!!
Anyways...I am making little scrap books for us, Missy, and Walt to remember the fun...it was a great time..I hope we get to go back every year! I highly recommend it....for the kitsch value if nothing else! Hope you like the pics!! I'd love to hear if anyone else has ever been to Wildwood!! Thanks bunches for stopping by!! XOXO Jenny

my newest can of worms!

So , it is another rainy yucky day...which makes me wanna do two things.....EAT and redecorate!!...now, I already have been very guilty of one of the two.....yep...Huge 5 layer bar at 3pm...those things are just too darn tempting sitting there on the counter!! buttery graham cracker crust...layers of sweetened condensed milk, coconut, chocolate, nuts, and butterscotch morsels...c'mon!!!
As for the redecorating ...geez...I am really stuck...I told you about what I had planned and what we had before...here are some pics of the tiny dining area as it was...like I said..very pink/blk/cream/ooh la la....cakes...galore! We now have the mocha/taupe walls.....I tell you,..getting rid of the pink...felt like I was cutting off my braids!!!( which I do not think I could ever do!! I have had them for over 11 years..never leave home without them!)....The pink being gone ..makes me feel like I went out and got a bob!....don't get me wrong..bobs are cute...and I am sure I could work with one...but wow the anxiety of all of this...whoah!...Where's Pam Garrison when you need her!!? haha....I truly am ok with it as much as it sounds like I'm not...I am excited for the change...we needed it....time to move on..time to start a new life....Aaron is feeling great...he can run 6 miles a day now!!! It is truly amazing how far he has come since the accident! We thought we'd never see this day! Well..it is here..and it is time to be happy again!...starting with this tiny little place we call home!...I hope to get things moving along...as soon as we make some progress I promise to post pics! I am sure it will take me a while to feel that it is "ready" or "done"...but I'm up for it! Wish me luck!! Any comments...feel free to post!! Thanks for stopping by! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!! Go Bake something!! xoxo Jenny

My fears came true!

Well...my fears came true...I am just as tech challenged as I had thought!! haha....Now for any of you who visited today...No..you are not losing your mind!!! ...My photo changed size over 6 times!! My goodness!! And you may be looking at the time of the entry thinking..umm ..ok girly...who the heck starts a "to do list" at 6 pm!! Well.....in my defense....I wrote the entry much much earlier in the day!!...and for some odd reason my photo just kept changing to the dreaded tiny red X!!!...I tried all kinds of tricks...tried photo bucket...just as messy as last time I tried..on blogger...haha....so had to go back to using the tiny little AOL format! Do not ask me how I managed to have a real deal full size photo in my very first post...some glitch I'll never understand!! HAHA!..Anyways...had to clear that up!!....but overall..yes I spent tooooo much time on this thing today! I did at least do a pilates "tape"! Yes..I live in the 80s!! it is in fact a dvd...and I am mocked by Aaron and my sister.....I do in fact call it my tape!!....off to mop the kitchen!! xoxo Jenny

Pixies make the rain go away!!

It is rainy, gray, and chilly today! Aaron is in NYC..doing his "urban wordsmithing" and I was hoping to do some personal crafting today! The weather is really yucky...and I am really at a snail's pace today! I have my "to do list" and my "what I'd love to do list". I am hoping I do not settle on my "to do list"

We decided about a month ago...well..I decided about a month ago that we really needed a change here in the apt...which is our life!..We spend more hours here than you can even imagine....our dining room is at all times full of cupcake signs....paint bottles...glitter ...you name it! We have lived in an all Pink, Black, and Cream apt/world for over 6 years....I wanted a change!...Since the accident...and having the store and all that...it is just such a reminder of the past. I thought we could return to our roots....while holding on to the light hearted candy feel we have now.We had the all white/sepia apartment for years...loved it..but it seemed too serious....then went all out Cupcakes/Ooh la la (which I do still Love!)....so If we could meet somewhere in the middle ..I'd be a very happy girl!

We indeed went out and got paint...a pale mocha...reminds me of the pages of vintage baking books...waffle cones...mocha frosting...brown paper packages...etc...I think it will be a great backdrop to some candy colored yet aged collections. We shall see!!...I do get quite anxious when I open these cans of worms!! haha...I have SOME track record! My Decorating muse right now is the cover of the current "PORTALS" It was just the perfect balance of everything....I cannot wait to tie in that vintagey blue!!I have stacks of inspiration including print outs from the AMAZING Pam Garrison's blog!!She just floors me!! What style!!!..what a color palette! LOVE HER!
I hope to make her flag banners soon!!..They are just such eye candy!!
I'd post pics of her stuff...but I'm not sure how that works...I guess I will email her and ask if it is ok?!! And if it is a go...I will be sure to show you all of her magical work!!
The photo above is of a vintage corner shelf in our studio...where I keep a small part of my fabulous collection of 100% handmade pixies by the incredible Laurie Duncan of Happy as a Lark Designs! She also is responsible for the ornaments on the Halloween feather tree in yesterday's photos! She is just the sweetest Gal ever! I met her a few years ago through eBay..and we have become great friends! She is always creating some fantastic Holiday items..always incorporating vintage crepe paper..and chenille..among other things! Be sure to have a peek at her stuff....but oh gosh...now I am gonna have bidding wars with my own friends! HAHA! good for Laurie!! Anyways..Thanks if you are reading this! I hope to start networking! Hope you all have a great day!! xoxo Jenny

Busy Day!!

So today was "non stop" from the minute we got up to just about 2 seconds ago!! Aaron finally got to sit..he's watching Conan. And I just listed 2 Halloween Art Squared pieces that we did tonight! They came out really fun! (well..in my opinion). We shrunk down our 100% original paintings and combined them with some great patterned papers..and vintage ephemera. Creating tiny pieces like these is just so fun...we are used to much larger canvases...especially coming from our years as furniture painters/designers! It is almost instant gratification!
We did lots of shipping today! I LOVE shipping days! Yes..they are reeeeaaally hectic and crazy...but I love to know that all of the pieces are off to their new "home sweet homes". I love checking them all off on our "to ship" list! Tomorrow Aaron is in NYC for his weekly meeting. Maybe I will get some personal crafting done. And some much needed cleaning!! I'm pretty beat...I'm gonna watch a  little Conan..and then hit the hay!! Night!! xoxo Jenny
ps. If anyone is interested..they are now listed in our eBay store!

So far So Good!

So far so Good!! I figured out how to get pics in my entries and all! Yipppeee!! Today is a busy busy day..Sales have been quite good this past week! So we are cramming to get everything finished and out the door! We are really excited about our newest designs....we are incorporating our absolute favorite bits of vintage baking book recipes..and text to these Fabulous wooden recipe boxes!!...They are so much fun! We did an original painting for the lid...and hand paint the scallop/lace looking border! We really had a ball doing them...they just feel good in the hands...does that make any sense? Also hoping to do some more Art Squared pieces....those were also very very fun to do..tiny bits of eye candy! Glad everyone seemed to agree!! They did well! YAY!! ..well..I am off to a Dr. appt...then back to the painting! I hope to reach out to my favorite bloggers soon....let them know how much they inspire me on a daily basis!! I think this will be a lot of fun!! Talk soon! xoxo Jenny

Hoping I am not as tech challenged as I think I am!!

Well, I saw a lil' pop up today on AOl for online journals aka blogs....I am a BIG BIG fan of a bunch of bloggers...(read them daily!) I gave it a shot on blogger last year...and bombed! loaded a pic..typed an entry...and it sat there....too many html things to wrap my glittery brain around! haha! This AOL deal looks glitter brain friendly! ...We shall see!! If all works out...I will be sure to add all of my favorite bloggeroos!!..and sites...and hopefully this will be in full swing in no time!! fingers are crossed!! Once I get it all figured out...I promise lots of cupcakes....vintage holiday goodies...and my everyday craziness!! See ya soon!! xoxo Jenny

Jag's on the Manistee

We just spent the holiday weekend on the Manistee River at our friends place where they actually made a campsite for us to use. See below:

The weekend turned out to be really nice with warm sunshine during the day and cool evenings to sleep well. We had a campfire each night and canoed the river one day and spent some time at a crapshow in Houghton Lake.....sorry I meant to say craft show.......

The Manistee River as always is beautiful.....

We did run across something a little unique. The guy that lives below has put in his supply of wood for the year and then some. I'm not sure how he will get the upper logs down without the whole thing collapsing but it is quite a pile of logs!

Next stop for us will be Harsens Island for a visit with old friends in two weeks.
